Adult Blogger: BIGMOUTHFULS BIG MOUTHFULS quickly jotted down her arrival time and flight number after informing Ella that she'd have to settle for the small back bedroom as the children were now ensconced in the two larger bedrooms.
Putting the phone down she resumed her seat to finish her wine when a thought struck her: The children still were pretty mopey from the loss of their parents. It might be worthwhile to give them some way to lavish their affections on something living. She'd take them to the animal pound on Saturday and let them each pick out a dog.
She knew that she'd be doing most of the caring for the dogs, but if it worked it would be well worthwhile. Besides if they had a dog sleeping with them at night they might forget the need to invade her bed every night.
Finishing the last of her glass of wine she locked the doors, shut everything off, and headed off to bed.
Saturday rolled around, and as planned, she and the children headed to the animal pound. After much searching, petting, and scratching of ears, Hope picked out a furry little ball of white fluff which she naturally named Fluffy. For his part, Matt fell in love with a Beagle which he appropriately named Snoopy. The next stop was the pet shop to get collars and leashes, food and water bowls, and dog food. While she was about it Amy picked up two books which described the proper care and feeding of their particular breeds of pooch.
